Objectives

The customer wanted to gain a like-for-like pricing comparison against Microsoft & GCP (Google) to allow for a greater comparison to be given AWS was also added. Licensing was also included as a like-for-like comparison there was a need to achieve 20% savings when choosing Microsoft Azure.  ​

Approach

  • The migration method is Azure Migrate for re-host used for all 170 RedHat Linux servers ​
  • Pricing gathered for different Hypervisors using Junkshon Aspire​
  • Using Junkshon Aspire gain a like-for-like comparison which included licensing ​
  • Host pricing throughout the Microsoft Azure estate was gathered with UK South as the cheapest ​

Results

  • Rapid Assessment (RA) was completed within 10 working days ​
  • All servers where Azure Migrate re-host ready​
  • 3-month migration period​
  • 22.24% cost saving compared with GCP(Google) and a 7.81% saving when compared against AWS
